This blog is dedicated to Brad Pitt and his humanitarian efforts. He is currently involved in a project called "Make it Right". The project hopes to resurrect New Orleans from the rubble.
Pitt plans to rebuild 150 homes in the Lower 9th Ward, where less than 10 percent of the population has returned since the hurricane.
According to the Post Tribune, he's committing $5 million to the rebuilding and placed his lucrative film career on hold and moved to New Orleans to lead his recovery project.
Besides the financial backing, Pitt has talked with residents as they described their needs. Pitt's houses are eye-catching and unique and will make a substantial contribution to the community. More important, they're affordable and environmentally friendly. Brad Pitt is using his wealth and celebrity status to shine a spotlight where it's needed. Perhaps the federal government should take notes.
It is a noble effort and hopefully Brad and his project will be able to help many of the people in New Orleans who lost their homes and have not been able to rebuild.
